Gosh, it took me some time to start watching this nice show. A pity I didn’t even watch the prequel. haiz… So I can’t compare between the two. As far as I know, most of the important characters continue their role in this, even though some certainly took a step back, for instance linda chung… Haha seemed like she had other projects going on which clashes with the filming of this and erm her role greatly diminished here. But it is ok as there are plenty of other pretty faces (and nifty technology) to keep me occupied, not to mention the various psychological influences, analysis and crime scene reconstruction and stuffs like that which are soooooo interesting. Now thats my cup of tea

But of coz there are some flaws as well. While it is certainly possible that the most improbable clues left in the crime scene may provide enough evidence to uncover the truth, there are also certain glaring moments of obviousness of things that should have been there but wasn’t (fingerprint left on the knife in the last case prior to putting on gloves) and things that shouldn’t have been there but was (idiotic geniuses who can make all the effort to remove unfavorable evidence but leave some very obvious ones hanging around).

But still, there are some food for thoughts about how the police investigation units solve crimes together. And obviously many of the cop shows around that just show the frontline policemen chionging all around and catching everyone seems abit more lame when you watch this, haha. Forensics is the wootz!

Another thing, there are alot of cameos and guest appearances from established stars, veterans, and newcomers (including some pretty faces) which kind of hold onto my attention, hurhur. They also kind of develop some romance and comedic elements between cases to lighten the mood blah blah. Though some may get a bit cringe-y.

Overall, it is nice, nice, nice. But I think most chinese drama viewers should have already watched it if this genre of shows are in their interest anyway
